Nikola Jokic was born on the 19th of February, 1995, in a small town called Sombor, in Serbia. Basketball has not always been his priority
growing up. Jokic had a passion for horse racing, and he spent most of his childhood life with horses; even today, he is not tired of horses.
He did not have the status of a top prospect at a young age, as many of the future NBA stars have. He was a fat teenager who used to play
basketball to have fun rather than to gain fame. Nevertheless, he had an instinct in the game.

A Denver Nuggets and NBA Draft Adventure
Nikola Jokic was drafted 41st overall by the Denver Nuggets in the 2014 NBA Draft. Jokic became a full-time player with the Nuggets in the 2015-16 season.
He was able to score, rebound, and distribute which allowed Denver leave him as the center of their attack due to his vision and judgment.
Over time, Jokic grew to be the team leader. He never used speed or athleticism but rather intelligence, position, and touch. His calm personality resulted in the name of the Joker.

He followed it up with another season of MVP level performance, topping the league in advanced stat metrics and dominating the playoffs in 2023.
What made him stand out among other superstars was his ability to control games without forcing shots. Jokic is one of the top players in the league in terms of points, rebounds, assists and efficiency, which is not a common feature for a center.

The most fruitful period in Jokic's career was in 2023 when he led the Denver Nuggets to their first championship in franchise history. He averaged 30.2 points, 14 rebounds, and 7.2 assists in the Finals against the Miami Heat and won the Finals MVP for his historic performance
